In this course, Chris Mawson and Nicola Abel-Hirsch examine the work of Wilfred Bion from a practical perspective. Expanding on the introduction to Wilfred Bion, this course is focused on real, practical applications of Bion’s theories.
Course format
This course consists of recorded lectures, a transcript of the lectures and a glossary of terms. There are also optional online discussion groups (see below for details).

All of the lectures are hosted by Chris Mawson and Nicola Abel-Hirsch.

Lecture 3 – Memory, desire and understanding (36 minutes)
Lecture 4 – Psychical Reality: A Practical Epistemology (45 minutes)
Lecture 5 – Change (27 minutes)
Entry Requirements
This is an Intermediate course and requires a good understanding of psychoanalytic theory. You can find out more about our difficulty levels here.
You must have a reasonably good internet connection to view our video content (around 400kbps – 2Mbps download speed, 400kbps+ upload speed). In order to attend the online discussion groups, you must be able to use Skype.

Course without discussion groups – 3 months
You will have access to all course materials at any time for the duration of your chosen course. This allows you to learn at your own pace and review particular topics as needed.
Discussion Groups
Purchasing the discussion group course will allow you to attend all of the discussions, as well as access to the online course materials for 4 months.
