This course provides a broad overview of the stages in child development. Across 9 lectures, it explores several psychoanalytic theories of development and the key developmental stages in a child’s life.
This course consists of recorded lectures, a transcript of the lectures and a glossary of terms.
The learning objectives for this course are:
- To familiarise learners with psychoanalytic theories of Child Development
- To develop learners’ awareness and understanding of the emotional life of human beings from birth to young adulthood, from a psychoanalytic perspective.
- To learn what are expected behaviors and emotional reactions at different stages of development, and discuss challenging situations that one may encounter as a parent, a teacher or a health professional
All of the lectures are hosted by members and fellows of the British Psychoanalytical Society.
